How it works

  1. Buy online — pay securely by card. We send the QR code by e-mail straight away.
  2. Install it — Settings → Mobile network → Add eSIM, then scan the QR code.
  3. On arrival select the eSIM for mobile data and switch on data roaming for it.

Frequently asked questions

When does the validity period start?

The 30 days start with your first data use in the destination country — not at purchase. You can activate the plan up to 12 months after buying it, so you can buy well ahead of your trip.

Which phones does it work with?

Most devices from 2018 onwards: iPhone XS and newer, Samsung S20 and newer, Pixel 3 and newer. Quick test: dial *#06# — if you see an EID line, your phone supports eSIM. The full list is here: eSIM compatibility.

What happens to my usual SIM?

Nothing — it stays where it is. The eSIM runs alongside it: data comes over the eSIM, while calls and texts still reach you on your usual number (watch your own operator's roaming charges there).

Can I share the connection (hotspot)?

Yes — tethering is allowed. Your phone can share the connection with a laptop, a tablet or a travelling companion. Shared traffic comes out of the same allowance.

Is there a daily cap or throttling?

No. You can use the whole allowance whenever you like, even in a single day — we do not throttle. Only the local network coverage (4G/5G) matters.

I have run out of data — what now?

Signed in, you can top up the eSIM you already have in a few clicks. No new QR code is needed, and the one-off profile fee is not charged again.

Do I get an invoice?

Yes — we send an electronic invoice for every purchase to the e-mail address you give us.

Do I need Wi-Fi to install the eSIM?

For installation, yes — the phone downloads the eSIM profile, which needs internet. That is why we recommend installing at home before you leave. Activation (your first data use abroad) does not need Wi-Fi.

What if I buy a new phone?

An eSIM profile is tied to one device. On a new phone you install it again by scanning the QR code — so keep the e-mail. If you already deleted it from the old phone and the code cannot be scanned again, write to us and we will help.

Does it work on 5G?

Where the local partner network provides 5G to our eSIM, yes — your phone must support it too. In most places 4G/LTE is the guaranteed baseline, which is plenty for video and video calls.

Do I get a phone number with the eSIM?

This is a data eSIM: everything works over the internet (WhatsApp, Messenger, FaceTime), but it does not give you a new number for traditional calls and SMS. Your home number stays in place and remains reachable — mind the roaming charges.

Can I use it in more than one country?

The Europe (all) plan works only on the networks in the coverage list. If your trip spans several countries, the regional (Europe) or global plan is the better choice — one eSIM, one allowance for the whole route.

Why do the three plans have different validity periods?

Allowance (GB) and validity (days) go together: a bigger plan is also valid for longer. Validity starts with your first data use, and when the days run out, any remaining data is lost — so do not buy much more than you will use during the trip.

Which plan is right for you?

We offer three sizes for Europe (all). The right choice depends less on the number of days than on what you use data for — maps and chat barely count, video does.

1 GB · 7 days — for a long weekend

Maps, messaging, e-mail, checking bookings, a few photo uploads. If you watch videos on the hotel Wi-Fi, 1 GB comfortably lasts 7 days. Price $6.90.

10 GB · 30 days — for a holiday

The most popular pick: daily social media, music, navigation, the occasional video call home. Over 30 days, 10 GB is realistic even for two people if you only switch on the hotspot now and then. Price $38.90.

50 GB · 30 days — if you work online

Video calls, cloud backup, streaming away from the hotel, or a laptop hotspot all day. 50 GB for 30 days is the cheapest per gigabyte. Price $155.90.

How much data do you need for 30 days?

A rule of thumb for planning — actual usage depends on your settings (video quality, automatic uploads).

ActivityUsage1 GB is enough for…
Maps, navigation~5 MB / hour~200 hours of routes
Chat, e-mail~1–2 MB / hourpractically the whole trip
Scrolling social media~100–150 MB / hour~7–10 hours
Music streaming~60 MB / hour~16 hours
Video calls~500 MB / hour~2 hours
Video (HD)~1 GB / hour~1 hour
Uploading photos~3–5 MB / photo~250 photos

Tip: use Wi-Fi at your accommodation, and disable background app updates and automatic photo backup over mobile data — those two quietly eat most of a plan.

Activation step by step

On iPhone

  1. Open the QR code from our e-mail on another screen (or print it) and go to Settings → Mobile Service → Add eSIM.
  2. Choose Use QR Code and scan it. If you cannot scan, use Enter Details Manually with the SM-DP+ address and activation code from the e-mail.
  3. Give the plan a name (e.g. “Europe (all) eSIM”) so you can tell it apart from your home SIM.
  4. Set Mobile Data to the new eSIM. Keep your home SIM as default for calls and SMS.
  5. After landing, switch on Data Roaming for the eSIM — and switch it off for your home SIM, otherwise the phone may still use it and you may be charged.

On Android (Samsung, Pixel, Xiaomi)

  1. Settings → Connections → SIM manager → Add eSIM (Pixel: Network & internet → SIMs → Add SIM).
  2. Scan the QR code, or enter the activation code from the e-mail manually.
  3. In the SIM manager, choose the new eSIM under Mobile data; keep calls and SMS on your home SIM.
  4. Enable data roaming in the eSIM settings — even on a local network this switch must be on, because the eSIM counts as “foreign” to the network.
  5. Check: turn Wi-Fi off for a minute and open a website. If it loads, you are done.

Install the eSIM at home, before you leave — installing does not start the validity period; that only begins with your first data use abroad. At the airport all you do is flip one switch.
